Beyonc & JAY-Z Will Perform Together For NYC Hurricane Benefit Concert

In the name of all that is holy, Bey and JAY are scheduled to perform together and the details are just so, so wonderful. Just four months after delivering us the greatest gifts on earth (her new babies), Queen B is headed back to the stage with her hubby in support of those affected by Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Harvey. Tickets to Beyoncé and JAY-Z’s Hurricane Benefit concert are yet to go on sale, but we recommend just living next to your computer and not falling asleep until details on where you can buy them are announced. In the meantime, mark your calendar, as the epic event goes down on Tuesday, Oct. 17.

The hurricanes have had a personal effect on Beyoncé, as mega-storm Harvey beat down on her hometown of Houston, Texas, late this summer. Beyoncé quickly jumped to visit those suffering, bringing along with her mom, Tina Knowles Lawson, daughter Blue, and former Destiny’s Child bandmate, Michelle Williams.

While there, she spoke to locals in her childhood church, St. Johns, saying,

Y’all are my family. Houston is my home. I thank God that you’re safe, your children are safe. I think that what really matters is your health and your children and your family. And I just wanna say I love you. I’ve been blessed so that I can bless other people, and I ask of God to continue to do that for other people.

As part of her continued support, she also joined the celebrity-packed fundraiser earlier this month, which raised more than $44 million, according to ABC. As part of her participation, Beyoncé delivered the following message in a passionate video:

It’s impossible to watch the news without seeing violence or racism in this country.

Just when you think it couldn’t possibly get worse, natural disasters take precious life, do massive damage, and forever change lives, leaving behind contaminated water, flooded hospitals, schools, and nursing homes, and countless families are now homeless.

In my hometown city of Houston, people need food, clothing, cleanig supplies, blankets, shoes, diapers, and formula for babies, and of course, clean water. The elderly need wheelchairs and kids need books and toys so they can continue to dream.

Natural disasters don’t discriminate. They don’t see if you’re an immigrant, black or white, Hispanic or Asian, Jewish or Muslim, wealthy or poor. It doesn’t matter if you’re from [Houston neighborhoods] Third Ward or River Oaks, we’re all in this together.

Seeing everyone of different racial, social, and religious backgrounds put their own lives at risk to help each other survive restored my faith in humanity.

True healing is in helping.

She concluded by saying, “Tonight, we come together in a collective effort to raise our voices, to help our communities, to lift our spirits, and heal.”

This concert will also be the first time JAY-Z and Beyoncé take the stage together after the release of his tell-all album, . You guys remember that little diddy? The one where he admitted to cheating on her, addressed his unborn (at the time) twins, and talked about Becky with the good hair?

Watching the two reunite on stage for such a wonderful cause, after the wildly personal journey they’ve been on these past few years, is sure to be incredible. The Hurricane Benefit Concert will also go down just 10 days before JAY-Z launches his world-tour on Oct. 27 in California.

Thank you, Beyoncé and JAY-Z, for your support efforts. And for everyone else, stay tuned for more ticket details!
