This Theater’s Homemade Sign For “The Wolf Of Wall Street” Is Amazing

Stuffed with sex, narcotics, and a record-setting number of F-bombs, The Wolf of Wall Street has become a lightning rod for critics and moviegoers alike. Some applaud its exploration of excess, and others find Martin Scorese and Leonardo DiCaprio’s fifth collaboration abhorrent.

While it has earned $68 million in domestic box office earnings since Christmas, its “C” CinemaScore indicates that mass audiences have been lukewarm on the movie; some have even walked out.

In light of all the hullabaloo, one theater has taken some measures to defend both its bottom line and the honor of an Oscar-winning filmmaker.

As found by Douglas Reinhardt — the guy who started the Ryan Gosling “Hey Girl” meme! — the Directors Cut Cinema at Rancho Niguel in Liguna Niguel, CA, put up this sign to warn customers that they’ll just have to deal with whatever they see on screen. After all, Scorsese is an auteur.
